Kraft Foods – Substation Upgrade

ISS Ltd were awarded a contract to manufacture, supply , install and commission an LV package substation at Kraft Foods in Sheffield, comprising an LV distribution switchboard, 2MVA Cast Resin Transformer and 11kV Ring Main Unit.

ISS Ltd visited the Kraft Foods site to survey the existing substation to confirm all logistical arrangements were covered.

ISS Ltd designed, manufactured and tested an LV Distribution switchboard at our production facility in Hyde.  We received delivery of the 11kV Cast Resin Transformer and 11kV Ring Main Unit into our production area, and close coupled the equipment.  ISS Ltd performed a full Factory Acceptance Test on the package substation.  The LV switchboard, transformer and RMU were then uncoupled.

Following successful completion of testing the package substation, ISS Ltd arranged for delivery of the substation equipment to the Kraft Food site, with ISS Ltd’s team of site service engineers onsite to greet the new delivery and offload and position the equipment directly into on a pre-prepared plinth in the substation.

The team assembled the switchboard, transformer and RMU.  The team fully tested the package substation, including client Site Acceptance Testing.  The engineering team prepared the O&M manual comprising as built drawings and test documentation, which were handed over to the Kraft Foods engineers.
